Our Country Has Only One Hope
“And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee.” Psalm 39:7
Dear Friends,
The psalmist, having taken a good long look at all the negative issues that surrounded his country and the uncertainties of life, turns his eyes and heart heavenward. David gave us a good example to follow when we are disappointed by the world around us – go to God and His word! The first president of our great nation, George Washington, wisely declared, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” Our national slogan says it right, “In God We Trust.” When people disregard the Word of God it can only have a negative effect. Our country has only one hope. The only hope for true justice is when people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! This past week President Donald J. Trump made a powerful statement from St. John’s Episcopal when he held up a Bible in front of the church. Thank you, President, for the great reminder – God and His Word are the only hope for our nation. Praying For America, Dr. Tim Pollock, Senior Pastor
