Our Sins, Nailed to the Cross

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”

Colossians 2:14

Dear Friends,

Two thousand years ago, during the early Roman Empire, it was the custom of the day when a person was crucified for their misdeeds, that a certificate detailing the guilty persons crime would be nailed above their head. What an amazing thing, then, to have our Lord remind us that all the sins WE have ever or will ever commit were nailed to HIS cross. Our sins then no longer count against us but rather, have been laid on our Savior.

The substitutionary death of our Lord Jesus Christ is not only a tremendous theological fact it is a powerful life-changing truth in everyday life. Think of it…our sin-debt is marked “paid in full.” It should have been each one of us hanging on that cross for our sins but thank God, the precious blood of Jesus Christ bought our release so that we could be forever free.

Dear friend, if you have not taken Jesus as your Lord and Savior, do so today. Experience the amazing freedom – body, soul and spirit that comes when you know that you are released from your guilt. If you already are a born-again Christian, walk in the freedom from sin that was nailed to the cross. Don’t let Satan discourage you or defeat you about your past.
