God is a Spirit

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

John 4:24

Dear Friends,

As our Savior was talking with a woman beside a well one day, He shared a wonderful and important reminder about the nature of our God, “God is a spirit…” (John 4:24). The fact that God is spirit is both important and wonderful.

It is important to know that He is a spirit because as such He is infinite, eternal and incorruptible. If God were not a spirit, he could not be the perfect Father.

That God is spirit is also a wonderful truth to us personally as Believers. Because He is spirit, which means that He is not bound by any limitations of time and space as others are. I can talk to Him anytime, 24/7 – a spirit never sleeps. He can be right beside me when I need some guidance – a spirit is not limited to be in only one place at a time. Some say that they don’t like the intangible nature of religion, preferring something they can touch. I for one say exactly the opposite! I’m glad that I don’t have to go to a particular place or touch a specific item in order to get in touch with God.

Dear friend why not today take a moment, wherever you are, to worship in spirit and in truth!
