Covenant Love

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:” Hebrews 8:10

Learning to trust God’s care is not easy for us as humans. Learning to remember that He always loves us regardless is a great challenge. Satan often attacks our faith in our Heavenly Father’s care. But we have been given a wonderful proof to rely on.

God’s covenant to believers is that He loves us and will do so forever. When we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, we become part of the bride of Christ. He has reassured us that because of a covenant He will never be done with us. When Lynette and I got married, I promised “till death do us part” and when God blessed me with Pauline as a wife, I also looked her in the eyes and told her, “I will never leave you.” I remind her often of my “Whatever, Forever” commitment.

We can also trust God. We have an amazing proof. It is His very nature to love. He demonstrated that upon the cross and continues to prove it through His amazing covenant love. He has made a blood covenant with us that He will care for us until the very end!
