Be Prepared

Be Prepared “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

I believe a warning is in order. Every time in Scripture someone has a time of victory and their faith grows, God seems to bring about opportunities to test and try that faith to strengthen it. I’m reminded of the story of Elisha and Elijah...just after Elisha gets the “mantle of Elijah,” he is faced with a big river (2 Kings 2) and a great need for God’s people to get across. It seems to go that way in our lives as well. The minute we grow in faith, our wise and loving Father allows a testing time. These times are not because we’ve done something wrong but rather to help us to continue growing and going; to always abound in the work of the Lord.

Be encouraged. God has made a way for us to escape every testing. Just be prepared and be on guard for the devil’s wiles.
