Theme: Listening, Wisdom Take out your smartphone or computer and look up the pictures of a few famous celebrity athletes that your children would recognize. It could be Lebron James, Peyton Manning, Manny Pacquiao, Lionel Messi, Michael Phelps, etc... Have your children name these athletes as you show them. Ask your kids, “What makes these athletes so good?” Read Proverbs 1:5 and teach your kids that a wise person will listen to counsel and try to improve. Each one of these athletes has someone in their life who helps them get better. This person is called a coach. If an athlete refuses to listen to his coach, he will only be hurting himself. This is true in our lives as well. A wise child will be sure to listen carefully to what his/her counselors, coaches, teachers, and parents are saying so they can become even wiser.
