Spiritual Complacency
“And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil.”
Zephaniah 1:12
Dear Friends,
Do you ever feel as though your faith is lacking vitality? The prophet Zephaniah warned Israel of, “settling on their lees.” In other words, stagnation.
It is all too easy to become spiritually lazy. No one intends to slip into complacency, but unless you set some specific goals and work to achieve them, we drift through life and miss the greatest prize of all – knowing Christ intimately!
For example, if you want to have a more vibrant spiritual walk. You might commit to spending 30 minutes each day praying and reading His Word before you do anything else. If you don't take tangible steps, godliness will simply remain a wish. No one walks with God by accident it is through good intentions and perseverance.
